Labyrinth Walk
Come and enjoy the deep silence of a contemplative journey as you walk Morning Star Studio's hand painted spiraling New Year’s Labyrinth. Applied to Morning Star's hardwood ballroom floor in sweeping arches of white water based paint, the New Year’s Labyrinth is a temporary installation to be open for New Year’s Eve. Calling in the New Year, violinist Dhyana Miller will be playing Celtic ballads, contemplative heartfelt musical and folk favorites along with seasonal traditional tunes 7-9:30 pm. Seating will be available around the perimeter of the Labyrinth.
Jewel McDonald of Morning Star Studio has been creating a labyrinth walk for the holidays for decades. She says, “Combining the sacred geometry of the circle, spiral and the cross into a meandering but purposeful path, the labyrinth represents the journey to the center of your deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of who you are. Walking the labyrinth is not only a metaphor for the twists and turns of life's journey; it’s a profound tool for creating an experiential relationship with sacred geometry, opening a personal and sacred place that takes us out of our ego to ‘That Which Is Within’ – the undivided Unity, eternal, immortal and invisible.”
Morning Star Studio is located at 51 1/2 S. Court Street, Fairfield, IA. The Stardust Lounge will be open for tea, socializing and crafting a New Year’s (hanging paper) Spiral of Intention. This is a family-friendly free event.
